Being Alone

It is a fact that the experiences which arise in our lives as human beings reflect the state of our consciousness. To clarify consciousness and intensify its vibratory rate is to alter our relationship to experience. This is why such practices as mindfulness, concentration, purification and renunciation come into play during certain stages of spiritual practice.

Truth and Illusion

This is a poem about Padmasambhava.

Truth and Illusion

Who else could the meditator be
But the centre of the mandala of existence,
Lotus-born from emptiness into full expression
In every instant of timelessness.
From the pollen heart of the lotus he comes,
With retinue of dakas and dakinis,
Merging our notions of otherness
Into the radiance of supreme siddhi.

Beyond all such illusory visions and insights,
Wisdom’s query points the way:
Was there ever a meditator, apart from notions of separation?
Was there ever a mandala other than its empty bindu?

White Calcite Geodes

I often feel that crystals which serve co-creatively in our spiritual evolution should have names which express their spirit. Some do, but most sadly do not. White Calcite Geodes are one crystal in this category. In the first day or two of the Tucson Gem and Mineral Exposition, Dmitri and I noticed geodes of white calcite sitting on a table which was owned by a dealer from Morocco. Nearby were boxes of small and medium geodes, and a few large specimen pieces. The brilliant white calcite interiors were arresting in their appearance, and we both agreed that they were important for the work.

Numbers as Messages

Dmitri's birthday is today. He has learned that, when he reads a number on a clock, there is apt to be a message behind that number. There is an online website which gives the meanings of numbers, in particular numbers that have recurring digits. This morning he read the number 7:44, and it was very positive. We had a chat on the phone shortly after 8 am, and Dmitri asked what time I awoke. I said 7:45. But then I remembered that this was the time that I looked at my computer and saw 7:45 at the bottom of the desktop. Thus I reasoned that I was likely getting up at 7:44.

Ready to Launch

Today is the last in a series of meetings about the new book, 'The Crystal Revolution', after which it will be placed in the hands of prospective publishers, and eventually one publisher will be selected.

At this point, with a newly written Preface, a value-added glossary, and many extra additions, the book can be considered complete and 'ready to launch'.

Supermind and Azeztulite

In "Stones of the New Consciousness", Robert Simmons writes extensively about Azeztulite. He also devotes considerable space to the spiritual work of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. He feels that the spiritual light to which Azeztulite is attuned is the light of the supermind about which Sri Aurobindo wrote. If indeed this is true, if meditating with Azeztulite helps bring about an attunement to the light of the supermind, then it is one of the more important crystals of our time in terms of linking humanity with its spiritual future.

What I Need Most - To Make a Good Beginning

To make a good beginning, what I most need is to open my heart. All the gifts of the Spirit come to us through the doorway of the heart. By opening my heart, I embrace the blessings that my soul aspires to manifest in this human life, so that I can incarnate them in my very own physical body. My body is my soul’s temple and as such essentially sacred.

Crystal Revolution – A Vision Evolves

The question before me is: how we will birth the crystalline spiritual future. What follows is a glimpse of that. To focus on the core issue: The Soul incarnates in order to progress in consciousness and to fulfil a divine plan whose seed exists at the core of our being. To manifest its spiritual destiny, the soul must become self-conscious by means of the intuitive heart, the thinking mind, the dynamic vital and the physical body. When these parts of the being are aligned with the light of the soul, opened to its guidance and surrendered to its action, the Body of Light is birthed.

Refining the Vision

The day started early. By 8:30 Dmitri and I were sitting over cups of freshly brewed coffee in "Judy's" family restaurant, waiting for orders of omelette and French toast, discussing the information to place on newly designed business cards.

Developing a "View"

One evening, while sitting with a friend at the dinner table, as the clock edged close to midnight, I observed how peaceful the candle light was. It was a simple thought, but I put it into words and shared it verbally. Then, a discussion developed, and from that an insight into what might be called a "crystal view". This is a starting point for all the work we might do hereafter with crystals, and so it seemed worthwhile to remember and set down the insights of that moment.
It was obvious that we were feeling this peace because we were conscious. What seemed a greater stretch of the imagination was the notion that something else which was conscious was communicating to us. It flew in the face of many years of schooling to think that candle flames communicated anything to anyone. Yet my sense was that, in the absence of those flames, the feeling in the room would have been different, and that both I and my friend would have noticed that difference.

It became clear then that our schooling had been a form of mental conditioning in which we had been taught to disregard feeling, or instinct, or intuition as a way of knowing. We have systematically been trained to think a certain way, empirically, and to consider only "factual" evidence, supported by the five senses, and inferences based on logic, as a valid way of knowing anything. By embracing this way of knowing, we had all moved into a certain way of being in which we were no longer in the same relationship with cosmos, with all that was, with the sky, clouds, flowers, candles and stones and crystals through which Nature and her spirit spoke to our ancestors in milennia past. And while scientific thinking had many successes to its credit, I could hardly begin to imagine what the implications for humanity have been as a result of cutting ourselves off from the entire mode of knowing which is based on feeling.

Yet, it seemed to me in those moments, as I shared the insight with my friend, that unless we could return to a way of experiencing cosmos with total openness and to embrace our intuitions and feelings as valid sources of cognition, that we would be crippled and limited in our interactions. What we needed, and continue to need, is a view of things that opens doors of perception, not closes them. We need a form of interactive awareness which accepts ALL forms of input, not only the logical ideas that science can validate, based on the five physical senses.
